This week my #FollowFriday person you should know is Michele Savoldi. Michele is the founder/owner of columbus imPRessions a marketing and communications firm. Michele is very experienced in public relations and marketing for both for profit and non-profit businesses. I follow Michele on Twitter and "Like" her firm on Facebook so I knew of Michele and liked what I was reading. She came off as knowledgeable in her space and someone that I would definitely like to meet. Well I got the chance earlier this week when I attended the Social Media Campaign Building workshop at Ohio Hi-Point in Bellefontaine (organized by my friend Tiffany Eckhardt ~ Great job by the way). I was really impressed by Michele's presentation. So many times I go to social media workshops and I either get the self proclaimed "Social Media Guru" talking to me about how to set up a Facebook page and a Twitter account or even worse telling me that to truly use a social media you should only have conversations, engage while we all hold hands and that business will magically materialize. Well in the real world there needs to be a "strategy" behind the use of social media that for businesses results in sales. By the way, at the Ohio Growth Summit in 2008 Chris Brogan said that social media for business needs to result in $$$ in case I need back-up on this. In her presentation I felt Michele hit it on the head. For a business to successfully use social media you really need to understand your brand and your customers. Once you understand your brand you can start making decisions around your messaging, marketing channels and the use of social media. Below you will find Michele's presentation from the Social Media Campaign Building workshop.
